We offer an initial fixed fee interview to give general advice about your family problem. The charge for this is £75 (inclusive of VAT) for 30 minutes or £130 (inclusive of VAT) for up to an hour. During the course of the interview we will discuss your financial circumstances and if you are eligible for Legal Aid (Public Funding) we will complete the Legal Aid forms at that stage and you will not be charged the fixed fee.
During this interview we will look at your problem in general terms and advise on the way forward and the costs involved.
There are separate Public Funding arrangements for care proceedings if you are a parent of or have parental responsibility for a child where the Local Authority issue proceedings. In these cases you are entitled to Public Funding whatever your financial circumstances.
You may also be entitled to free advice if you are a parent or a person with parental responsibility and you receive a letter from the Local Authority telling you that they intend to issue care proceedings. Please ask us about this when you telephone us
